Cubicle.

A desktop app where a founder runs a small AI workforce. Each person sits in their own room, and a wire between two cards is access, so a person reads only what is wired to them.

The founder stays the operator. People draft, propose and speed the work up, and every action that needs a yes waits in one list. Nothing runs unless you have the app running.

02 · Story

The story.

  1. The problem

AI agents that take the wheel.

Tools that promise an AI workforce often let the agents act on their own. The founder finds out afterwards what was sent, spent or changed.

  2. Why I built it

I was shown an "autonomous company" and wanted the opposite.

A startup building one approached me. I liked the idea, but it was limited, and it took control away from the founder. So I built my own take, where the founder stays the operator.

  3. The hard part

    Helpful, never in charge.

Access had to be something you can see, so it is a wire between two cards: a person reads only what is wired to them. Every action that needs a yes waits in one list. Nothing runs unless you have the app running.

  4. Where it is now

A working prototype, in two months.

About 1,900 commits and 3,500+ tests, built solo between September and October 2026.

Who stays in controlYou wire what each agent can read, and nothing happens without your yes.

03 · How it works

How it works.

  • Wire for access

Cards sit on a canvas. Draw a wire between two of them and that is access: a person reads only what is wired to them, nothing more.

  • People propose, you decide

Each person works in their own room with tools, then drafts and suggests. Anything that needs a yes lands in one Needs you list, with a standing yes you can take back.

  • Runs on your machine

Files, recordings and transcripts stay on the box, and the server listens on this machine only. Prompts go to free hosted models, with the option to keep them on a local one. Every number on a card is worked out in TypeScript, not by a model.

04 · Features

What it does.

  • 17 ready-made teams

On four shelves: Find out, Build and sell, Run the company, and Raise, with 16 built-in skills.

  • Some things always ask

A standing yes covers one person, one tool and one target. Running code and delegating can never get one: each needs a fresh yes.

  • Runway you can trust

Cash, burn and months left, with three 24-month scenarios. It turns amber under six months and red under three, and people can only propose changes.

  • Leads, never sent for you

A leads board with CSV import and export and follow-up nudges. It finds leads, but sending always stays with you.

  • Interviews with consent

It records only after you tick consent, and transcribes on the machine with whisper.cpp.

  • Decks that check themselves

Decks and sites only use numbers the wired material states, cut unbacked claims, and keep headlines under nine words.

05 · Scenarios

Where it's used.

  1. A solo founder

    Starting the day.

Today's five, ranked by a fixed table rather than a model, then the Needs you list.

  2. Before a raise

What if we hire in January?

A runway scenario first, then a deck built only from the metrics wired to it.

  3. After a customer call

    From recording to insight.

A consented recording, a local transcript, and an insights doc written from it.
